The town square in Frankfort, Illinois. The Plank Road Trail is a lineal open space that traverses Cookd and Will County south of Chicago. It forms a very pleasant access to the town square, which is located in the center of the Village. The Plank Road Trail was originally planned as a Plank Toll Road, but then developed as a railroad. After it was abandoned it was converted to a bikeway.

The Plank Road Trail plan was the first plan I ever prepared as a consultant in 1978. It faced a great deal of opposition. It has turned out very well.
