Downtown Plan

In 1998 the Village of Tinley Park undertook a Downtown Improvement Plan / Transit Oriented Development. The plan developed an aggressive plan to improve and revitalize the historic core of the Village. These photographs illustrate some of successes of the plan.

Tinley Park has done a great job improving their historic Village downtown at Oak Park Avenue and the Rock Island Train Station. Craig Hullinger AICP led the plan development when he was Assistant Village Manager in 1998. Camiros developed the graphics and plan document and an outstanding set of sketches that led to substantial improvement of redevelopment and facade improvements in the downtown. The Village has an aggressive plan for future redevelopment when the economy improves. Beth Ruyle prepared the Tax Increment Financing District (TIF) which helps pay for the improvements.

Cadz, Spain Carnival

Cadiz, Spain, Last Day of Carnival

Took the Train from Toledo through Madrid and Seville to Cadiz on the coast. We arrived the last day of carnival which was fun but hectic. I waded through the crowds with luggage. We could not find our apartment and spent sometime wandering about. The locals were engaged in spirited singing exhibitions, totally blocking the narrow streets. Fun time.
