The Village created a nice Town Square (actually a triangle) in the heart of the historic district next to the train station. The METRA commuter parking lot is closed and used for special events on the weekend when it is underutilized. The Village also created a nice fountain, sculptures, and whimsical park benches. A new and very nice train station was constructed. The downtown continues to be improved and is the focal point of the community.
